The Australian Cybercrime Observatory (ACO) was established in 2026 through the formal amalgamation of the ANU Cybercrime Observatory and Adelaide Cybercrime Laboratory. A national initiative, the ACO brings together members from disciplines across Criminology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Ecological Sciences, Linguistics and Psychology.
By bringing together ANU’s extensive data holdings and Adelaide University’s strengths in software development and data analytics, the ACO undertakes work across disciplines in collaboration with law enforcement, government, intelligence, and defence.
As Australia’s first multi‑institutional cybercrime research and data platform, we are uniquely positioned to support new and established partners.
